Showing potential employers your best side

If you are in the process of applying for jobs then you need to make sure that you are showing potential employers your best side.

There are a number of ways in which you can do this but the first is to ensure your CV is correct. Spelling and grammar mistakes on a CV can be enough to push you off the list of people who are invited in for an interview. It’s not that employers expect everyone to be perfect but they may view it as you can’t be bothered to get it spell checked or ask someone else to check it for you. This is a simple thing that could make a big difference. The next point is to ensure that if you do get asked for an interview you reply in a timely manner. Be sure to keep checking your emails and phone to make sure you don’t miss out on any correspondence from the jobs you have applied for.

If you are preparing to go to an interview be sure to make sure you allow enough time to get there. Arriving late for an interview is a definite no no.

Also be sure to dress smartly. You are better to be over dressed for an interview than under dressed.
