The importance of making your lessons engaging

As a teacher you have a lot of responsibility to ensure that the pupils are happy, learning what they ned to and safe. When it comes to planning lessons, you need to try and find ways to make them interesting and engaging.

Research has shown that lessons which engage children are often more effective and getting children involved in tasks can help aid their learning. It is not always possible to get children actively involved in everything you do during a lesson, but most lessons can include a certain amount of practical time.

When doing maths for example, some children may find it a little boring. Simply by splitting them up into pairs and giving them cubes or dice to use to solve problems, you can keep their concentration and make the lesson a little more fun.  The internet is full of great lesson plans and material which can help you make your lessons more fun for all ages. Sharing idea with other teachers will give you new ways of teaching lesson which you may not have previously thought of. You may also be able to help them with lessons that they are struggling with.
